Logo for Design Enabler
Tagline: Make more money, have more fun
About the business
- Design Enabler is a WordPress coding service that takes designs provided by web designers (usually in Photoshop format) and converts them into working websites.
- I have been working with designers in this manner for several years, but I am currently transitioning from working with end-clients and outsourcing the design portion, to working with designers and letting them communicate with the end-client.
- Design Enabler will offer only one service: coded WordPress themes from provided designs. We will not create plugins, do design work, etc.
- In addition to helping designers expand their product offerings (the coded WordPress theme/working websites), Design Enabler will also provide information and tools to help designers grow their businesses. For instance, we will review invoicing tools, link to excellent Photoshop tutorials, and provide sales collateral for them to use on their sites and in client communication.
Business goals and personality
- The overall goal of the logo is to resonate with web designers—to communicate at a glance that we are serious about helping them spend more time designing.
- I’d like to communicate “freedom” to designers—specifically that we offer them the freedom to do what they love and will help them make a good living at it.
- Our chief competitors are cheap PSD-slicing companies. We are different because our code is extremely high-quality—in particular, it’s search-engine-optimized (a feature designers can promote to their clients)—and because we help designers grow their businesses (in other words, we do more than just chop up their designs).
Target market
- My target market is strictly designers who want to spend their time doing design and not code. They might have some familiarity with code but much prefer design.
- They are located all over the world and prefer to communicate via email.
- They consider themselves “quality” designers and are more concerned with providing their clients with an excellent product than saving a few dollars (otherwise they’d use one of the cheap PSD-slicing companies).
- They are interested in growing their design businesses without losing focus on the part they love (design).
Specifications
- The logo will be primarily used online, with the possibility of later using it on business cards and stationary.
- The logo should be provided in vector format.
Design preferences
- My ideal logo is colorful (to communicate the “designer” focus) and polished (to visually indicate that we’re superior to our competition).
- I do not have any color preferences—please use your judgement.
- I’m kind of envisioning a sans-serif font for one word and a scripty font for the other—but I’m not attached to this idea if you want to go another direction.
Logos we like
Time frame and budget
- I would like to see initial comps within one week if possible so I can move forward quickly with the rest of the site design.
- I’m working on a limited budget of $200 for this logo (my husband is concerned about all of my new business ideas!
).
